Project Manager


As a member of the Manufacturing Sciences and Technology (MS&T) organization, the Project Manager will lead various teams to translate BMS's commercial biologics and/or small molecule program goals and objectives into effective project plans. The Project Manager will assist in the planning and execution of projects while interfacing with various functions within MS&T, regulatory affairs, quality & compliance, and supply chain. The successful candidate will support the cross-functional Technical Product Team (TPT) in the development of detailed project plans, including resource planning, tracking project plan execution against established targets, identifying and facilitating resolution of issues, and communication of the project status. The Project Manager is a leader, coordinator, and facilitator for the Integrated Technical Strategy team, capable of assigning and leading projects, providing direction, managing a team, and helping to drive overall direction and strategy for the department.

**Program Manager Duties & Responsibilities**

+ Supports Technical Product Teams (TPT), utilizing a variety of project management tools to build and sustain high-performing cross-functional teams.

+ Coordinates and facilitates creation of project plans and ensures optimal execution against the plans. Tracks project progress and ensure project deliverable are met on time.

+ Proactively communicates project status, changes to approved plan, issues & risks to management.

+ Maintains dashboards and team SharePoint.

+ Organizes and facilitates team meetings, agendas, project reviews and action item follow-up by working closely with the team leaders.

+ Ensures the Technical Product Teams are practicing the core agile principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability, and visibility.

+ Finds and works to remove project roadblocks; motivates the technical team and keeps them excited to move forward. Manages the team ensuring that commitments are being upheld.

**Qualifications / Experience / Skills**

+ BA/BS in a life science, engineering or other technical discipline.

+ A minimum of 4 years of project management experience within the pharmaceutical/biotech industry.

+ Strong technical background and PMP certification is desirable.

+ Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

+ Strong inter-personal skills.

+ Proficiency with project management and Microsoft tools, e.g. MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.

+ Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and business acumen.

+ Experience working on cross functional matrix teams.

+ Ability to work independently to achieve results and exercise influence across a global matrix organization.
